Tom Jessop is the President of Fidelity Digital Assets. In this role, Tom is responsible for directing the company’s long-term vision to create a full-service institutional brokerage capability for native digital assets like bitcoin and tokenized securities. Tom joined Fidelity in January 2018 as Head of Corporate Business Development and led a team focused on identifying and executing strategic opportunities including acquisitions, divestitures, strategic investments, and partnerships. Prior to joining Fidelity he served as president at Chain, a leading provider of enterprise blockchain solutions to global financial institutions. Tom holds an MBA in Finance from New York University and a BA in Economics from The College of the Holy Cross. He is a CFA charter holder and serves as an advisor to the Digital Dollar Project.

Regulating digital assets: The prudential perspective
The Center on Regulation and Markets will host an event to explore regulating digital assets. The event will feature remarks from Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Acting Chairman Martin J. Gruenberg on critical questions bank regulators should consider regarding crypto-asset related activities by banks. A panel of experts will follow, reacting to those remarks and discussing their views. This event is the second in an event series that forecasts the future of digital asset governance from the perspective of state and federal regulators.
